BIPV Designer

Job Description

In this role you will:

• Design residential and light commercial BIPV rooftop solar projects using multiple programs and software, referencing structural, electrical and fire codes nationwide
• Understands project scope and ensures designs are consistent with project technical requirements and scope
• Assembles documentation packages and produces drawing sets
• Developed detailed material take-off: roofing materials, electrical equipment lists, load lists, conduit and cable schedules as required for the project
• Explains drawings to Sales Representatives and Construction teams as needed and provides adjustments as necessary.
• Work cross functionally with other departments and team members to ensure clients’ needs and internal deadlines are met
• Create permit applications for submission in different jurisdictions
• Make informed decisions to maximize solar potential on residential projects

Here’s what you bring:

• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated ability to learn new computer and technical programs quickly
• NABCEP professional certification preferred
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years in similar role
• Able to multitask, manage time well, be organized, and stay busy with work-related tasks
• Good at working as a team player and willing to take on initiative/responsibility, solve issues, and create results
• Communicate effectively professionally, and kindly with people of varied backgrounds
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
